Easy SRV Songs To Learn
Stevie Ray Vaughan really changed the game for us guitar players. He single handedly injected an entirely new world of techniques and tones into the blues.
Stevie refined blues guitar. He was a true disciple of the blues. He managed to become a melting pot of nearly every different style and approach to blues guitar.
The world of rhythm guitar was flipped on it’s head when SRV came around. In songs like Cold Shot, and Pride and Joy, we can hear his signature sound. Stevie would smack the strings extremely hard with his right hand. His left hand had an incredible mute. But the main sound we hear with Stevie Ray Vaughan on these tracks is the extra strums. He would literally hit open strings between every note to create a brilliant, beautifully sloppy, shuffle.
